Who I Am
I was born in Iran and I grew up in Finland. These two worlds — so different, so ancient, so full of silences — are the foundation of everything I make.
My films, books, music and theatre are not separate projects. They are one ongoing conversation with the world. A search for what connects us beneath language, nationality, and fear.
I have shown my films at over 40 international festivals. I have written novels that strangers tell me changed something in them. I have composed music that I never planned to release, but had to. I have built theatre from nothing, in borrowed spaces, with people who believed in the story.
I do not separate my work from my life. Everything I make is an attempt to understand what it means to be human — in exile, in love, in loss, in hope.

Literature
Synopsis: Marco, a tram driver in Helsinki, navigates the quiet routines of his life, carrying memories of family and the distant struggles of his homeland. When fleeting encounters with a traveler and a young student disrupt his daily route, he discovers that even amidst routine, connection, longing, and unexpected moments can change the course of a life.
The play follows a young Muslim man named Jesus, who arrives in Finland with his parents as an asylum seeker. The family lives in a reception center, caught in the long and uncertain process of waiting for residency decisions. As they struggle to adapt to a new country and its systems, tensions quietly build beneath the surface.
During a summer road trip across Finland, Gian, a Kurdish-Finnish taxi driver recovering from a heart attack, travels with Sirvan and young Lempi toward a folk music festival. After finding an injured mysterious girl in the forest, the journey turns into a surreal reflection on mortality, faith, and human connection — forcing Gian to confront the possibility that this may be his final Finnish summer.
Recognition
“The Soldier” has gained international recognition through official selections and nominations at 34 film festivals worldwide. To date, the film has won four major festival awards, including Best Feature Film and Best Director, establishing itself as a notable independent production on
the international festival circuit.
